MEDALIST CANCELS TOURNEY |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
AIRPORT CLOSURES FORCE TOURNAMENT CANCELLATION |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The
long awaited Medalist Asian-International Dart Tournament that was
to be held December 5 - 7 at The Royal River Hotel in Bangkok was
canceled due to government protesters that had closed down operation
at both Bangkok airports. Medalist Vice Chairman Lee Peppard
released a preliminary statement on 29 Nov that based on local
information it was doubtful that the situation would be resolved in
time for the tournament to go ahead. The official cancellation
notice was issued on 2 Dec after all last hopes for airport
operations to resume had failed. It's most unfortunate that the only opportunity we here in Thailand have for the hosting of an international darts event has been lost. An event like this not only gives us the chance to compete but to watch the best players at the top of their game. A darts event of this caliber not only gives old friends a chance to get together but for friends yet to be made the opportunity to meet. We of the Thailand Darts community look forward to the next Medalist Tournament and meeting all visiting darters. - - Johnny |

BURNETT & HECKMAN UNABLE TO FLY IN |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As reported last month - Scotty Burnett and Rob Heckman are two darters that we were expecting for the Medalist Tournament - as well as arriving a few days early to check out Bangkok and meet members of our local darts community for some friendly competition. Most unfortunate that you couldn't fly in but as those of us in the expat darts community well know - one missed opportunity to meet up only means that we'll just drink that much more beer the next time we do meet. Ah and us darts locals were really looking forward to showing you boys how the game of darts is played. Yep - can talk trash now that you can't make it but will get more humble in the future when you have a scheduled itinerary to return. On the serious side - you guys and and all darts players are always most welcome to meet our darts community. Although we may not be able to put on a show the caliber of the Medalist Tourney - let us know when you will be here for some darts, socializing and perhaps a "few" beers and we will always answer the call. - - Johnny

BANGKOK STEEL TIPPERS TRY OUT SOFT TIP |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As mentioned last
month Lee Peppard from Medalist and Doug Harrison owner of Bourbon
St. set up Sunday & Wednesday tournaments giving local steel tip
players the opportunity to get their initial rating and the forty
required games to participate in the now canceled Medalist Main
Event. We saw an excellent turn out of our local steel tippers - including visiting Paul (Dartoid) Seigel - finally satisfying their curiosity about soft tip darts. Guessing that we had to be the most disorganized group of newbies experienced by Lee, Tino and the Medalist staff. It was the first time for most of us to ever play soft tip. Understanding that the machine does it all - except - the player has to press the red button "next player button" when completing a throw. This of course comes quite naturally after a bit of play but the first time at it we had the entire Medalist crew quite busy correcting our scores as we continually forgot to "Press the Red Button". Good fun by all although I'd guess the Medalist staff felt more like kindergarten teachers tending to a group of unruly kids. We many not have set any high score records but one rating test may have set the Medalist record for longest time taken. Dartoid was paired with Ned and Jayke and had plenty of time to nap and catch up on jet lay sleep loss when he waited for Ned and Jayke to throw. A good time was had by all and although the main tournament was canceled we now have a growing group of steel tip players interested in the regular weekly soft tip tournaments at Bourbon St. Tournaments are on Wednesdays at 8 PM and many are hopeful that the Sunday afternoon 4 PM will also become a regular event as it fits in well with many peoples schedules. Soft tip darts and supplies are available for sale at Bourbon St. |

. Our good friend Paul (Dartoid) Seigel paid us another visit and as always it was an eventful one. This visit seemed to be more structured with so many events and meetings, sorry about that Paul if nothing else we at Darts Thailand take pride in being so dis-structured. But we did have some time to socialize, knock back a few brews and play some darts. Just think, if your return flight was one day later - you'd have had an week or so here with the airport closures. . |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Happy
that you joined in with the locals for the Medalist Rating and
qualifying events. Bit of bad luck how you got teamed up with Ned
and Jayke for your rating round but sure you now have volumes to
write about the slowest darters in the world - can't imagine how
you'd use that - reading that would put anyone to sleep. Photo left - with Lee Peppard, Medalist Vice Chairman, Paul & Lee got to talk some darts shop talk during his visit. As requested Lee, we cropped out Paul wearing shorts in all photos. Question DT has and I'm sure the entire Medalist readership wants to know - will you, Lee be willing to wear shorts and sandals in our next photo shot of you? |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
While in town Paul had the opportunity to to meet with Vichai Govindani , president of TDA Thailand Darts Association. Vichai has been involved with darts and the TDA for over twenty years. Paul and Vichai shared many stories about the darters they've met, including many of the all time greats, over the years including back where more Thai players competed internationally. KaptainX and I were with Paul and Vichai at the Singha Beerhouse and enjoyed a great dinner with the continuous pleasant distraction of all the Singha girls. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
One of Paul's objectives this trip was the chance to take on an elephant - a big darts match. Many thanks to Nongnooch Tropical Garden for providing this opportunity. So who won? We ain't telling - not until after Paul first releases the story Jan 1st on his website. Paul will have a full write-up including a link to a Utube video of the event. Video now nearly complete by the new Darts Thailand Video Department. This is one that you'll not want to miss!!! - - Johnny

The enthralling Miss Jeab is the manager of the popular Corner Bar owned by John Holly. And Jeab has decided to enter a team into the LSDL fun league - the Corner Bar Craicheads. A wise decision although many may question her decision of selecting Jayke as team captain. Jeab is having some upgrades made to the throw area that will be completed in a few days. Corner Bar is in Queen's Park Plaza - Sukhumvit Soi 22 - Bangkok.

INTERVIEW WITH DAVID |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The "Voice of
Darts in Bangkok" - well maybe not yet officially recognized but
when you attend a darts event in Bangkok chances are that you'll
hear David's voice as emcee as well as performing the more difficult
task of keeping games moving - keeping players at the boards without
long breaks. Might still consider a career in broadcasting, David?
It's our pleasure this month to interview the guy who keeps darts
events moving in Bangkok - our good friend, David. . |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
DT)
How and at what age did you get started playing darts?
DAVID) As a young boy growing up in Ohio, we had one of those
American dart board that had darts on one side and baseball on the
other side. Needless to say we used the baseball side more on rainy
days. In 1984 while stationed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I joined a
Brit/Irish dart league because Riyadh is not exactly fun city. This
was a chance to party and play some really bad darts but it was a
really good night out. DT) Who has influenced you the most in your dart game? DAVID) While working in Rome for the World Food Programme, we started a team to play in the UN Interagency games. One of our players was Piero Terranero who was a really good darts player. Before he started to explain the game to me, I would just chuck the darts and hope to get a good score. He explained that you should think before you throw. Now that was a new revelation to me. You had to think to play darts! I didn’t get much better but now I think before I throw my darts. Thoughts like where did I leave my beer? . |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
DT) In how many different countries have you played darts? DAVID) Let’s see, I already mentioned Saudi Arabia. I also played in Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, England (at the home of darts, Lakeland) and of course the USA and Thailand.
. DT) What has been your most memorable win? DAVID) My most memorable win came in 2000 at the UN Interagency games. WFP, my team, hadn’t placed in the last 5 tournaments so we were very much the under dogs in the tournament. We played a box system and we came in second in our side. We had to play the winner of the other side in the semis. We were 3-0 down and all they needed was another victory to win. WFP then ran off 4 straight to win. In the finals we had to play UNESCO who had beaten us in the round robin stage. This time we went down 3-1 before we came back to win the last 3 games to claim the tournament victory. Think that was the only time in my darts career that I won anything. Needless to say we partied until we couldn’t see! See not much has changed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. DT) Is there anything you see as unique about darts in Thailand? DAVID) The atmosphere seems to be better in Thailand then in other countries that I have played. Also the fun aspect seems to more important than winning to most of the players. DT) You have been playing darts in Thailand for quite a few years. What changes have you seen in the game over those years? DAVID) From when I first started the level of play has improved vastly. Wish I could say the same for my level of play. We have also expanded our leagues to include 20 teams last season. That means we now have more players than ever before. Think that speaks volumes for our sport. DT) What changes do you think would improve our sport of darts in Thailand? DAVID) Hard to say. Johnny and KaptainX have put in some great work in improving the image of our dart leagues over the last couple of seasons. If they just keep up the good work think we will keep improving. Getting more people and bars involved would also help to improve the sport. Also getting the right players in the right league would help the sport. Let me win more and I would be a very happy player! Don’t impose too many rules that have nothing to do with the game. Let each player find his or her level. Promote the better players. DT) Anything specific you'd like to say to dart players in Thailand and readers of DT? DAVID) Nothing specific but would like to reinforce that darts is a game to be enjoyed. I like to win as much as anyone but as long as I have a good time that is enough for me. So just enjoy and play the best you can! I had a great time last season and hope that all the players that I met had a great time too. See y’all next season. Good Darts everyone! |

Season XVII - Jan 2009 (Lower Sukhumvit Darts League) |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
THE
LSDL - The LSDL is now between seasons, the end of season party took
place as usual at D’Pelican Inn on Sukhumvit Soi 22 – Check out the
photo gallery from the party which will be online shortly after the
newsletter. Season XVII will kick-off on Tuesday 13th January 2009.
With many application forms yet to be handed in Johnny and I will be
doing the rounds over the next week attempting to get everything
rounded-up. THE FUN LEAGUE - Some changes and additions now in The Fun League - Next season will see The Corner Bar from Queens Park Plaza on Sukhumvit Soi 22 joining in the Fun League. The Cat’s Meow Bar on Washington Square may not be with us next season; Kenny and Kerry will be forming a new team playing out of The Ship Inn on Sukhumvit Soi 23 – a bar who used to be in the league several years ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Larry’s Rebels team is under new management and will enter the league next season with a new name – Larry’s Loft, The Moon Platoon will undergo a name change to The Moonshine Pub - with the LSDL getting it’s spot back in the Bangkok Post – teams are feeling that its good promotion for their home supporting venues to carry their bars names in the upcoming season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Now
if Cat’s Meow do keep a team in the League, also with Kerry’s new
team over on Soi 23, The Corner Bar joining the league and a
potentially new Fun League team from Flaming Moes, the LSDL Fun
League would have to split into two divisions, a proposed 15 team
Fun League would split into 7 and 8 teams with the smaller having a
BYE. THE PREMIER LEAGUE Up in the Premier there is some uncertainty, there may only be one Premier League team from Flaming Moes Bar for the new season with roomers heard that Sar will be entering a fun team into the Fun League. Sadly we have to say goodbye to The Old Other Office from Patpong – hopefully they will re-join in future seasons. Boy, an Ex-Flaming Moes player wants to enter a new team in next seasons Premier League, TOT – The phone company. Currently, Boy is searching for new home venue for his team, there are several new venues that hope to join the LSDL – They are listed below with pictures for anyone who may be interested. Boy’s new team joining the Premier League - having only one Flaming Moes team and with The Old Other Office out, this would leave a 7 team Premier League with one BYE, this being an ideal scenario in the sense that both the Premier League and The Fun Leagues two divisions would be finishing their seasons at the same time. A shorter season also means a quicker turn around for new bars/teams who want to join the LSDL halfway through a season. Finally, I’m really looking forward to season XVII and hope everyone else is too! Get those application forms in please. Cheers - - KaptainX. |

HUA HIN DARTS LEAGUE |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It's
a three way race at the top of Division 1 of the Hua Hin Darts
League as we head into the final straight. Paradise, JW Black and
CAT Bar only have 3 points separating them with Scandic Bar a
further 3 points behind them in fourth place. Unfortunately Pink
Flamingo dropped out of the league leaving 8 teams in that division,
so most now only have 3 games left. CAT B are romping away with it
in Division 2 and hold a massive 8 point lead over closest rivals Lucky Shot and Jaew although there are still 5 games to go. Five teams are still in contention for 2nd place though, but the festive season is likely to play havoc with which players are available. The Cup has reached the quarter final stage with those matches being played as this is written, and the whole season should be wrapped up by the time the next newsletter comes out, including the individuals end of season tournament of the top 16 best performing players over the season. Despite being absent for several weeks now, the Division 1 table is still topped by Stuart from Paradise Bar but there is a gaggle of players closing in on him, while the Division 2 contingent have all posted impressive scores, led by Eero from Butterfly Rock. Whatever happens it will be fun, and then we can look forward to another season! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all you darters out there from all the Hua Hinians down here! The November Moonshine Knockout - Tuesday evening, 8pm (well, 8:15pm), a record 30 darts players, loads of great food, 17 Prizes & 3 trophies’ – Great event I thought. So two lucky people, Su and Adul drew a bye on the first round. First game up was CW and Brian, CW stormed right in to the second round with a two zip win, meanwhile on the other board team mates On and Tik took each other on, Tik went through to round two. After a long and hard struggle Bob and Gayle’s game came to end with Gayle moving up. Charinee had the unfortunate opportunity to play against Gop in the first round, Gop went through to round 2. Khun John lost his game to Kerry and over on the other board I was kicking Moonshine David’s *** (haha).
. Next up, Jayke almost won his game against Boy thanks large amounts of Heineken - Oh sorry I mean thanks to Jayke’s ability to play darts, but with a last grasp of concentration Boy pulled it off and sent Jayke packing - Over on board two Matt played his best against Boggs and made it through. David Russell got one up on Tony sending himself through to meet Matt in the second round. Tony was the guy from www.cobra-thailand.com who kindly threw in a set of darts and four sets of extreme Sports Glasses for giveaway prizes, Now Colin from Moonshine Pub won’t have to worry about damaging his eyes when he goes snowboarding every Sunday afternoon on the icy slopes of Silom Road. Old friends, Colin.L and Taxi faced-off, Colin.L went through. Harry played against one of our yearly darter visitors – Rene, the only guy I know that has to throw down to reach the double-twenty, Harry won a close game with 2-1 on legs. Kenny sent grant straight over to the loser’s bracket for his second chance at the trophies - meanwhile, Moonshine Colin took the top spot in his game with Scott. In round two, Su beat CW and on board two Kerry won his game against Tik with a 119 close on the second leg. Harry kicked me right out of the winner’s bracket sending himself through to the quarter finals, next up Gop set Adul straight and on the other board Gayle was throwing her best…Gin and tonics down in an attempt to compensate for her handicap against long running tournament champion – Boy with no success. David Russell beat Matt, Moonshine Colin lost his game to Kenny and Colin.L did well against Tom, putting himself through to the quarter finals where he’d have to beat David Russell to continue un-touched. With the quarter finals setup, we moved over to the loser’s bracket and with time ticking on we had no choice but to go down to sudden death best of one leg. Some people were unhappy with this however we would have been playing darts till 7am if not. The decision to play sudden death was made solely by David and me – NOTE: The event still went on till 2am. With sudden death as challenging and quick as it can be, it proved a more exciting event in my personal opinion – Inge beat Taxi – Tony got one up on Boggs – Bob had to leave so Jayke got a BYE through. Grant took a win from Scott – Rene lost his second game to Moonshine David and team mate On beat Khun John. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In the losers
bracket, round two saw Adul sending Grant back to his soft drink
(Unfortunately for Grant he was on call to be shipped back to New
Zealand if the worries of the airport worsened), Gayle won her game
against Moonshine David – Matt sent On home – Inge sent CW back to
bar – Tik lost her game to Tony - Charinee lost her game to
Moonshine Collin, old home team adversaries Tom played Brian with
Tom coming out on top and I somehow managed to beat Jayke in an
interesting game where David.R had plenty of time in-between Jayke’s
shots to draw what could only be called modern art on the
scoreboard. The scoreboard will auctioned off at the next knockout
to raise money for a tin of green paint for Mitch. Back over to the winner’s brackets now and Kerry ended Su’s winners brackets run, Harry sent Kenny over to the losers brackets, Colin.L beat David.R and finally Boy put Gop in his place wining his game and going through to beat David.R and then harry securing his either first or second place in the tournament. With the quarter finals setup, we moved over to the loser’s bracket and with time ticking on we had no choice but go down to sudden death best of one leg. Round 3 of the last chance saloon kicked off with Tony beating Inge – I came out topside against Moonshine Colin – Tom beat his new team mate for next season – On. Next game, Gayle lost to Adul, Kerry came in and knocked Tom off his perch, I played Colin.L and pulled off a win and Tony holding strong beat Gop. In the next round I had to face Tony and with some kind of divine intervention I won that game too. Adul finally put an end to Kerry’s winning streak, meaning he had now to beat David.R to play-on and I had Kenny to look forward to, well in a great game Kenny kicked my *** and David.R sent Adul packing and continued on to pull Kenny’s tie up for him now with only more person to conquer to secure at least second place. In a close game, David.R beat co-thrower Harry landing one of two spots in the final. Unbeaten Boy won the final match and the tournament, David.R got second place, Harry came in Third and Kenny fourth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
First, second and
third place won a trophy and moonshine vouchers, fourth place won a
crate of Heineken. 16 luckily draw prizes were given out, Boggs,
Moonshine David, Adul and Tik drew a bottle of wine, Su, Moonshine
Colin, Colin.L and Inge won a set of Tony’s Extreme Sports Glasses,
Khun
John, Charinee, Gop and Jayke won a Buy-1-Get-1 voucher for the
Moonshine Pub and Finally David Russel and Harry won the two
dartboards’ cutesy on TDA and Vichai their president – I managed to
forget to bring the dartboards’ in question to the event so with
Colin’s help we drew some nice “I.O.U a Dartboard Vouchers”, the
dartboards have now been given to both David and Harry who have
donated them to The Aloha Bar. A final prize giving from Jayke, our
local lepricorn – The pink Panther Award was awarded by Jayke to
Gayle for being a lovely person. Thanks to everyone for coming down and making it a great night with a record turnout, Thanks to Mitch and Wassana and the staff at the Moonshine pub for supporting the event as normal with excellent food, bell rings, prizes , wines, beers, vouchers and more. Thanks to Tony for the throwing in the glasses and darts for the giveaways, Thanks to Johnny for taking some great photos of the event and getting them online for everyone to see, Thanks to all people that helped score the games and finally thanks to David and to me for trying our best to run the tournament. - - KaptainX. . Encouraged with the success of her 1st Knockout on 9 Dec - On will
hold another. Photos and write-up from the 9 Dec Knockout will be in
the Jan Newsletter. Being a small bar they don’t have the manpower
to run these tournaments during the regular league
season,
most of their people play darts, 8 ball and 9 ball for the bar which
in the regular season takes up Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On is determined to make her upstairs darts lounge (2 dart boards) one of the most sought after venues in Bangkok for Darters and even encourage Fun league and the Premier League teams to think of her darts lounge as a default venue, if teams are short of a venue on an odd night, even though they can’t field a team in the premier league. She would like to have her bar known as a specialist darts bar with its own private darts lounge (which can be hired for competition, private parties or fun). On's installed an intercom system to let players downstairs know when their games are being called and plans to have cameras on the boards that can be viewed on the downstairs TV. - We at DT admire your darter's spirit! |

EDITORS NOTE - Knockout Events are run by bars and not in any way governed by the LSDL (Lower Sukhumvit Darts League). Although KaptainX and I are both committee members on the LSDL our promotion of knockout events is on behalf of Darts Thailand. Notifying us of your darts event allows better organization in scheduling so as not to have two events on the same night. Our new darts events calendar link can be found on the main page. And remember - the earlier you notify us about your event the better we can promote it. - - Johnny

JAYKE'S TAKE |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Dartoid, The Trouble with Harry, Violence at The
Moonshine Knockout and the Rumour about Ben's Return hits Thailand' First of all was nice to meet with so many again this month after kicking my heels in Jomtien and some cracking nights of darts in the last couple of weeks as well as the social side. Not much has changed, Witkowski still stalks dart tournaments trying to photograph the female player's rear ends. Kenny still thinks it's called Tieland and On was rumoured to have smiled although this has yet to be confirmed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. Firstly was the Pattaya visit- was disappointed to have missed this due to illness but it marked the return of Dartoid to Thailand to play an Elephant !!!!!. On hearing he had landed I sent Pookie to the safety of Buriram thinking 450 odd kilometres was just about safe enough distance from the darting romeo and although am sure the game will be covered in full elsewhere this month on here Dartoid still remains a mystery to me. Only the second time had met him but had heard Witkowski talk about him quite a lot- obviously some kind of darting cyborg I thought with a name like that. Was a bit of a mix up on the previous visit when unknown to me who he was I was sent to the airport to collect him and returned with this guy who seemed quite up for a game of 'Mickey Mouse' on the journey back. Check out Dartoid's World CLICK HERE always worth a look, not sure what happened to the pink Darth Vader however. Maybe he was more of a pool player and joined the Bangkok Pool League. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. Was nice to bump into fellow wee man and Stoke supporter Harry again and have a good chat over a few shorts in the Moonshine. Unknown to me Harry followed the likes of Eric Bristow, Phil Taylor back in his home town in his early days as the local darting hero in the Potteries city of Stoke On Trent. Has changed a bit, lost the handle bar moustache but even due to his lack of height can be seen in this old picture chucking a mean arrow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On a sadder note was disappointing to see trouble flare at the excellent Moonshine tournament last week- as everyone knows Mitchy-Baby and Wassana always put on a doozie of a night as this one was no different. I'm sad to report though that violence erupted when Harry threw a stray dart that caught Moonshine compere and home team player David in the eye. Now Harry swore it was an accident but David I'm sad to report reacted rather hastily and was having none of it. Happy to report though that both have made up and were spotted just the other day sharing an egg cup of beer in Benjasiri park on a toadstool.
. Finally as reported on the new forum on here just last week-Ben has announced his impending return on Dec 22nd obviously not knowing that this website is read more than he realised and word has reached the Thai community. As we know they have caused as much chaos as possible in order to stop any flights from London from getting anywhere near Thailand and there are rumours that several other countries may follow suit in case he tries to sneak in across land. Was having a beer outside the 'Silver Dollar' with Ned just the other day on the outside table, the regulars there will obviously know the two kittens that are pretty much part of the furniture outside of the bar and as I was explaining to him that Ben was planning to return- one of the cats obviously overheard and is currently in feline therapy. Until next time folks- If I don't see you have a Happy Xmas and good luck for the new season. If you need to get in touch with KaptainX in regard to registering either e mail or pop into the Emporium between 12 and 6pm and queue to speak to the guy in the Santa suit-he said he'd keep a few registration forms handy in his grotto. Be Good Y'all - - Jayke |

BANGKOK DART BARS UPDATE |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
THE PENALTY SPOT |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
One of newest bars in town - only recently completed "The Penalty Spot" located on Sukhumvit Road near Soi 29. This is a large operation with two floors - dart board on the 2nd floor (1st floor if British). The Penalty Spot has a large food menu, fully stocked bar including some interesting draught imports, pool tables, live sports and live music. Penalty Spot is looking for a team for the upcoming Tuesday night league.
NICE & EASY |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Nice & Easy is located in Queen's Park Plaza, Sukhumvit Soi 22. It's on the back row just to the right of Country Road. Checked this place out a while back but was waiting until they finally named it to report on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. A friendly little pub with fully stocked bar, pool table and dart board, Nice & Easy has an open-air front which may be a consideration for darters wanting to be able to smoke while playing. The lovely Miss Nid - photo above - is quite a handy darter and is looking for a few darters for a team to join the upcoming Tuesday night league. Miss Nid says it gets awful lonely practicing all by herself. Stop in and give Nid a game or two when you have a chance. |

DIVAS |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Divas is located in Queen's Park Plaza, Sukhumvit Soi 22. Formerly the "On the Rocks" bar Divas is under new ownership and the bar received a complete overhaul. The raised roof and brighter colors makes the inside look so much larger than the prior setup. Divas has a fully stocked bar, pool table and darts. Divas is also looking for a team for the upcoming Tuesday night league. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
. Always happy to report on new dart bars. If you know of any new teams or players looking to start a new team - let them know that these bars would be happy to host teams. We'll be out checking on some other bars we've been told have dart boards and some bars interested in putting in darts boards. Hope we have more to report on next month. |

GUESS WHO THE DART PLAYER IS ? |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Guess the dart player. Can't be all too difficult to identify a darts player that you know from their photo - can it? Hmm, how about if that photo is a "few" years old. Look for a new category on our forum "Guess The Dart Player". Got lots of positive feedback on this and already have some photos emailed to us and ready to post. KaptainX and I are the only ones who know the identities of photos emailed to us but we will never tell - not for any amount of beer - hint - hint. Only photos posted by KaptainX (KaptainX) will be actual photos of darters that you know. I can only guess how many erroneous photos Jayke will be posting. If you are one of the regulars - full time or regular visitor - basically any darter known by our Bangkok darts community please email us your old photo and any hints you may want to give. - - Johnny
