Greetings & Happy Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year wherever you may be on this globe. On Wednesday 29 January we begin the Year of the Snake after the Year of the Dragon.
Most do not like snakes, but I do, well some snakes more than others. My favorite is the green coconut tree snake, undoubtedly the most laid-back, allowing photographers as much time as needed to get the perfect photo.
If you have ever visited Bangkok or plan to do so, Bangkok’s Chinatown is a for sure place to visit. Unique sights and smells of some of the most savory cuisine found anywhere on the earth can be found here.
Bangkok’s Chinatown is one of the largest if not the largest in the world. The Chinese New Year Festival from January 19th to February 9th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to midnight, the iconic street, Yaowarat Road will be transformed into an amazing street celebration. Posted are some of my photos from some years back.
And from the Darts Thailand Cartoon Department, four dart flights protype ideas. First, the feared cobra, fitting as we enter the Year of the Snake. Second is the iconic Thailand Tuk Tuk. Third, the Yak Yai, temple guardian warrior statues who keep away evil spirts. And fourth, Ching Chokh – a gecko, which is my favorite lizard because their main job is eating mosquitos.
Hope you have a Happy Chinese New Year wherever you may be. Until next report – stay well, cheers & good darts ! – Johnny
