DARTOID  501  KNOCK-OUT
Saturday 16 June 8 PM Moonshine Pub, Bangkok

Paul Seigel (a.k.a. Dartoid) will be taking on all challengers in a 501 Knock Out Competition - Saturday 16 June at the Moonshine Pub located in Queen’s Park Plaza, Sukhumvit Soi 22. Sign-up opens at 7 PM and the match will begin at 8 PM. Prizes will be awarded and there will be a food buffet.

Paul is the web's best known darts writer and no stranger to Thailand. He will be visiting Bangkok from 11 - 22 June and in addition to the 16 June event he is up for all dart challenges. If you haven't already been to his website  Dartoid's World  check it out.

We invite all Thailand darts players to come out and meet Dartiod and give it your best shot in some competition.

501 KNOCK-OUT DARTS is a regular Bangkok darts event co-hosted by Flaming Moe's Bar & Moonshine Pub.
 

Darter of the Month

  

The lovely May is this month's darter of the month.  A talented darter, May is also the secretary for her darts team "Harry's 33ers". Looking for a darts team? May is looking for you.

  Lower Sukhumvit Darts League will begin Season XIV on 05 June. The league is happy to welcome its new sponsor  Aqui-pak  The new schedule and score sheets are now available on the league's website. Johnny will be going by each bar to deliver copies of the schedule and score sheets in the next few days. As there has been a growing interest in this job contact Johnny if you want to join him going around to all host bars.

HUA HIN  DARTS  LEAGUE

We are almost half way through our current season and there are no surprises at the top of the table. Johnnie Walker Black (ex-Barry´s) are leading with ten wins and a draw. Pink Flamingo have done better that I expected having lost only once. Cat Bar have lost surprisingly many games as have we (Bamboo Grove), as well. It looks like JWB and PF are fighting for the championship and CB, BG, JWR and JJ for the third place. The eight teams in the lower part of the tables are quite even and on a good day can pull out a few surprises.

As for the individuals list there are five players above the 100 point mark with last season's runner-up Tao leading the pack. Last season's winner, Jim, will probably not make it this season as he spends his summer in Glasgow. There's a newcomer rising rapidly on the list and will be a big challenger if he remains in Hua Hin till the end of the season. Stuart from Jungle Juice is showing some remarkable skills as we Grovers were made to suffer in his hands in our match against them. - Osmo

  Plans are to have the 1st Hua Hin Open in July. More info as soon as we get more info from the possible sponsors Singha Beer or San Miguel. If the tournament will take place in July the friendly match between Lower Sukhumvit Darts League and Hua Hin Darts League will be played later. - Osmo

MOBILES  AT  THE  OCHE

  
 
Much is said about proper darts etiquette however the subject of mobile phones at the oche is never broached. Why not? Is the ubiquitous use of mobile phones now something so sacred and never to be questioned?

Bad enough in a friendly one on one game but this is sadly now all too common during league matches. What can or what should be done about this? Who are the worst offenders? Does one of the cartoon characters remind you of someone, possibly yourself?

VIETNAM VS. THAILAND

  
  In the month that this article appeared the response from interested players has been good. As well as a top teams match, many have an interest in attending. So there will be a B Division playoff set up as well to keep everyone busy playing darts. I have been in contact with Gary-Dale who many of you already know. He is with  Saigon International Darts League and will be in town next week. We will meet and set up the dates for this challenge match.

All suggestions to help this match become a reality are certainly appreciated. If you are interested please email me. As well, many of the best players in country do not use internet regularly or at all. Koh Chang Open 19 - 20 May 07 -  CANCELLED

  
  Due to unforeseen circumstances the Koh Chang Open was cancelled. Event organizer Magnus at Northern Lights reports that he will try again later this year. Although Koh Chang is Thailand's second largest island - it is not a popular darts destination. Attempting to organize a darts event on the island is an admirable challenge and we certainly wish Magnus well on his next go at it later this year.  

OUR FIFTH MONTH

Darts Thailand is now in our fifth month. Our Darts Bar Page has a total of 76 dart bars as of this writing. A special thanks to those contributing information. But we know that there are more dart bars out there. If your favorite darts bar is not yet on our list please email us the information.

The sole purpose of this site is to promote darts in Thailand by having as much information as we can find published on-line. If you're a darter traveling to Thailand by all means pack your darts.
